Legislator BRIAN SCAVO

The city of Albany has proposed  a property tax increase of  8% and the Albany School district has raised taxes by 10%, now the proposed county budget is14% and if you live in the  city of Albany , add them all together and it’s 32%.

The bottom line is the property tax payer in the city of Albany faces a property tax increase of 32 % or more in 2011.

This simply a finical disaster for property tax payers in the city of Albany, the city government, the city schools ,all residents of the city of Albany whether or not they pay property taxes..

Every resident in the city of Albany will suffer, homeowners, renters and those who live on social services.

The county executive also talked about 800 early retirements and the selling or the closing of the Albany county nursing home.

Legislator Brian Scavo said” I will vote against any tax increases and i will vote against any sale or closing of the Albany county nursing home.
